OccuBrowse facilitates quick access to occupational and employment
data in an easy-to-understand format. It contains many of the features
found in Enhanced Job Analyzer, but with a lower price tag. The OccuBrowse
database includes the DOT occupations, worker trait descriptors and
their ratings, along with O*NET descriptors and their ratings, as
well as directed access to the Occupational Outlook Handbook and
America's Job Bank. It is a comprehensive and easy-to-use software
tool for accessing occupational information
1. Search by Occupational Characteristics - Display/print a
list of occupations containing trait values you select. Examples:
develop
a list of all sedentary and unskilled occupations, or print a
list of all occupations that require occasional climbing and
occasional
balancing, or select the list of occupations that require a worker
to "abrade," or generate a list of all occupations that
require the worker to "direct, control, or plan the work activities
of others" but do not require more than a high school education.
2. Search by Key Word(s) - Display/print a list of occupations that
contain keyword(s) you enter in their title, occupational task descriptions,
or both, or look up an occupation by its code.
3. Search by Occupational Groups - Display/print the list of
occupations common to any of ten occupational groups.
By highlighting an occupation(s) in a list generated by any of the
methods described above, more information becomes
available.
1. Display/print the description for the highlighted occupation
in task, paragraph or job analysis format.
2. Display/print the occupational demands required to perform the
highlighted occupation.
3. Display/print the titles and codes that crosswalk to the highlighted
occupation (Work Fields, MPSMS, GOE, OAP, DIC, SOC, 2000 Census,
CIP and O*NET).
4. Display/print National BLS Employment and Wage data (SOC coded)
with access to the latest Occupational Outlook Handbook along with
its many internet links to other information related to the highlighted
occupation.
5. Display/print O*NET OU tasks and descriptors with descriptor
values and definitions.
